Hawks Talk Pitt: Brandon Scherff

Iowa locked up with a physical Pitt team on Saturday in the Steel City. The Hawkeyes countered with a balanced attack, running the ball behind left tackle Brandon Scherff.

PITTSBURGH - A week after the uncertainty of whether or not he would play against rival Iowa State, Brandon Scherff kept on trucking here Saturday in a 24-20 upset win against Pitt. The senior left tackle locked up with a physical Panther front and helped get the Hawkeye running game going.

Bruising running back Mark Weisman rolled up 88 yards on the ground, an individual high for an Iowa ball carrier this season, largely running behind Scherff. The Denison product overpowered the Pitt end on his side.
