Anunoby Getting Closer to Decision

Ogugua Anunoby is one of the better wings left on the board in the 2015 recruiting class. The Missouri product is sorting through his suitors and hopes to make a decision sooner rather than later. Get the latest on his recruitment in this premium update.

In the end, Ogugua Anunoby will choose the school that best fits him. However, the Missouri wing is receiving plenty of input from friends committed to two of the programs which he's considering.

Ahmad Wagner, a Ohio forward verbally pledged to Iowa, and Indiana commitment Juwan Morgan, from Missouri, are in Anunoby's ear trying to get him to follow them, he said. He also stays in touch with Hawkeye teammates Peter Jok and Trey Dickerson.

In addition to the Hoosiers and Iowa, Anunoby favors Georgia. He's scheduled to officially visit the Bulldogs in Athens this weekend and then be in Bloomington Oct. 4. The Iowa official is behind him after he saw Iowa City earlier this month.

"I feel like I'm getting closer to making a decision. I want to make a decision but I'm not in a hurry to. I want to see these other schools to make sure I'm making the best decision for me," the 6-foot-7, 200-pounder from Jefferson City, MO said.

Coaches have been dropping in on Anunoby's open gyms. Representatives from Iowa, Indiana, Northwestern, George Mason, Gonzaga, Georgia and Ole Miss have stopped in the Jeff City facility during the last week.

Indiana Head Coach Tom Crean and Associate Head Coach Steve McClain visited Anunoby. Iowa Head Coach Fran McCaffery was back in Jefferson City Wednesday after being there last week.

"(McCaffery) says I can really shoot the ball. He said I can come in and play the three right now. He said he sees me eventually moving to a two because I shoot the ball pretty well and I can handle it pretty well, too," Anunoby said.

Anunoby said he's considering an official visits to either Gonzaga or Ole Miss after checking out Georgia and Indiana. Nothing is scheduled.

"Iowa, Georgia and Indiana are my top three. So, those are the ones I definitely want to see. I want to check out the environment and the fan support. I already know all of the coaching staffs pretty well. I want to get to know the players," Anunoby said.

Anunoby thought about announcing his decision on Oct. 21 but he's hoping to do it before then.

"I was thinking about that date but I'd like to make it sooner rather than later. I'd like to make my decision shortly after my last visit, whether that's Indiana or Gonzaga or Ole Miss," he said.
