Moss Weighs In on Iowa Opportunity

With Chicago's Brandon Hutton already on board, the Iowa coaches dipped into the Windy City again with an offer for Isaiah Moss. The Simeon wing spoke with HI about the opportunity, when he's going to visit Iowa City and what it all means to his recruitment.

It was a summer to remember for Isaiah Moss that's transitioned into a fall he won't soon forget.

The Chicago Simeon showed significant growth on the AAU circuit with the Mac Irvin Fire. After not having a scholarship offer at the end of his junior year, he's since added opportunities at a rapid pace.

Iowa jumped in with the 6-foot-6 wing on Tuesday, he said. He also reported scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, DePaul, Rhode Island, Temple, SMU, Auburn and quite a few others.

"Iowa has been recruiting me since my sophomore year," Moss said. "I think highly of them. They have a great coach (Fran McCaffery) and a great program."

Moss has officially visited DePaul and Rhode Island. He has scheduled officials to Pitt this coming weekend and Iowa on Oct. 31, he said. He has not decided if he'll use his fifth official allowed by the NCAA.

"I might just wait and see what happens," he said. "I'm not going to sign until the spring, so I have time."

Mccaffery is leading Iowa's recruitment of Moss, the Simeon senior said.

"(McCaffery) said he likes my all-around game. He said I fit great into their program," Moss said. "I'm excited to check it out."

Iowa has secured three known verbal commitments (Brandon Hutton, Andrew Fleming, Ahmad Wagner) in the 2015 recruiting class. The Hawkeyes have five scholarships available in the cycle.
