Williams' Decision Down to Iowa, MSU

Raequan Williams is set to make his commitment on Friday, he tells Scout.com. The four-star defensive lineman from Chicago's DePaul Prep is down to Iowa and Michigan State.

One of the top uncommitted defensive lineman in the country will announce his college decision on Friday night before his basketball game. Chicago DePaul Prep defensive lineman Raequan Williams tells Hawkeye Insider that he is down to Iowa and Michigan State.

"It's a very tough decision," said the four-star prospect, ranked by Scout.com as the No. 1 defensive tackle in the Midwest for the 2015 Class.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound Williams officially visited both Big Ten schools. The Hawkeyes and Spartans sent multiple coaches to his home last week to make their final in-person pitches. The open recruiting period ended Sunday night and now the schools can only contact him via phone or through messages.

"It will just come down to what's best for my family," Williams said. "Both schools have great people there. It will hurt having to tell one of them no."

The Hawkeyes led for Williams' services for much of the spring as he visited Iowa City on multiple occasions. MSU came in with an offer in October and has been making up ground since then.

Williams officially visited Oregon in addition to Iowa and Michigan State.
