Iowa Looking at King's Former Teammate

Iowa struck gold when it pulled lightly-recruited Desmond King out of Detroit. The Hawkeyes have returned to look at another prospect at his school, Nate Boleware. He spoke with HI about Iowa's interest in him and his in the Big Ten school.

The recruiting process can unnerve prospects. Much of the consternation comes from the unknown.

Players must decipher fact from fiction during the courting phase. They're trying to determine what it's really like to play at a given school beyond what they're being told to pull them there.

Nate Boleware enjoys an advantage in his search for a college. His good friend and former high school teammate, Desmond King, is entering his third season at Iowa.

"He's told me that it's a great environment and that I would love it down there," Boleware said."I've been getting a lot of mail and I can't wait to get the offer from Iowa. I want to play with Desmond."

The East Village (Detroit) High product is viewed by Iowa like Jonathan Parker. He's 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds of trouble in the open field as a running back, slot receiver and kick returner.

"I get mail every week from Iowa and I really want to go there. I would like to visit. I'm trying to work that out," he said.

Boleware said he's also hearing from Ohio, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Bowling Green, Toledo, Western Michigan, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan and Akron. He's planning to visit Ohio this spring.

Boleware is looking to major in Business or Sports Medicine.
