Williams Signed, Sealed, Delivered

Decatur (Ill.) St. Theresa High all-state guard Christian Williams has signed his letter of intent to play basketball for the Hawkeyes, the school announced Wednesday.

Iowa received St. Theresa High (Ill.) senior Christian Williams letter of intent to play basketball for the Hawkeyes, the school announced Wednesday.

“We are thrilled that Christian is part of our Hawkeye family,” said McCaffery in a press release from the team. “Christian is an incredibly versatile player who can play three positions. He’s a terrific athlete with great length. He’s a phenomenal passer and a proven winner. Christian fits very well with our style.”

The 6-6, 195-pound athlete was nabbed All-State twice in his career for the Decatur area team. Putting up 20 career double-doubles and helping his high school win 20 games or more every year he was in high school.

Williams is the third player from the state of Illinois to sign with the Hawkeyes in the 2015 cycle, joining Chicago De La Salle forward Brandon Hutton, and Chicago Simeon forward Isaiah Moss. Other signees for Iowa are Oak Hill Academy (Tenn.) guard Andrew Fleming, and Wayne (Ohio) forward Ahmed Wagner.
