Tyler Junior College athlete Dale Jones stands 6-8, 220-pounds and is coming home to play his collegiate ball.
The Waterloo West alum played his first two years of eligibility at Tyler Junior College, and will enter Iowa as a junior.
“Dale is a versatile front court player who can score, rebound and shoot at a high percentage,” said McCaffery. “He played for one of the top junior colleges and coaches in the country in Mike Marquis. This is a great opportunity for Dale to come back home. We’re thrilled that he’s going to be a Hawkeye.”
Jones is the sixth member of Iowa's 2015 recruiting class, and averaged 16.9 points as a sophomore and shot 45-percent from the field.
Jones rounds out the Hawkeyes recruiting class, joining Chicago Simeon's 6-5, 175-pound forward Isaiah Moss, Chicago De La Salle 6-6, 210-pound forward Brandon Hutton, Oak Hill (Tenn.) 6-4, 205-pound guard Andrew Fleming, St. Teresa (Ill.) 6-6, 195-pound guard Christian Williams, and Wayne (Ohio) 6-7, 215-pound forward Ahmad Wagner.
