In this exclusive Scout Spotlight video is Crystal Lake (Ill.) Central senior defensive end Romeo McKnight, an Iowa commit and the midwest's No. 16 defensive end.
The one minute video gives the Hawkeye fans a quick, but detailed overview into what McKnight will bring to Iowa City as a player on the field, a student in the classroom, and person away from football.
McKnight is a raw 6-foot-4, 225 pound edge rusher that wreaks havoc in opposing backfields. His strengths are rushing the quarterback from his defensive end position and disrupting the timing and chemistry of opposing offenses. Which makes sense, because has he mentions in the video, his favorite plays are when he's chasing and delivering hits on the signal caller for the opponent.
He's also a versatile player in that he can be used as a lineman with his hand in the ground on the line of scrimmage, or as a stand-up pass rusher, much like current Iowa starter Nate Meier. In the spotlight, McKnight actually compares himself to a former college football star and former first round NFL draft pick.
McKnight's love for the game stands out in the video, as he's always wanted to be on a football field, and hopes that football fits into his long-term future as well.
