HOMETOWN: Beverly Hills, Michigan (Groves HS)
RANKING: Three-Star, #8 CB in Midwest, #60 CB in Country
RECRUITING STORY: Much like Iowa is used to doing, they've trusted their own evaluations and feel like this is one they got right and the other Power 5 teams got wrong. The Hawkeyes were the only Power 5 school to offer Boswell. They won out for Boswell over various MAC programs. He committed to Iowa at the end of June.
EVALUATION: He's a good athlete with a track background. He has good burst and acceleration and is a patient runner with good vision. Boswell can still get stronger but his size and skills translate best to cornerback. - Scout Midwest Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu
It went pretty well in bringing in a defensive back from Michigan before. Desmond King, the Jim Thorpe Award winner, is from Detroit. The Hawkeyes also signed cornerback Michael Ojemudia from Michigan in the last cycle as well. It never hurts to go back to the well that works. They did that here with Boswell and he's a very physical corner. But his best trait is his speed which comes from his years running track. He has great closing speed, make-up speed, fantastic in recovery, and can be asked to stay on an island with a receiver. It's the footwork that will need work to alleviate any false steps because he is certainly fast and big enough to hang with just about any receiver that he'll see in the Big Ten. - Hawkeye Insider Publisher Derek Young
