Top RB Lists Iowa

Once again, the coaching staff at the University of Iowa is contending with some of the top schools in the nation for the nation's elite running backs. Two years ago, we were able to snatch away Jermelle Lewis and Fred Russell, but last year lost out on Ayo Saba. The odds would tell us that its our turn to once again land a top notch RB, could this guy be the one???

RB William Blackmon (6'0 186 4.4), from Warrick, RI (Bishop Hendricken), is one of the top RB's on the east coast, much like Jermelle Lewis two years ago. The difference in the players would likely be their running styles as Blackmon uses more of a finesse style, using his elusiveness. William has the ability to be a very good Big Ten running back.

"The schools that have offered me right now are Purdue, Iowa, Boston College, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Arizona, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh," stated William. "Right now I'm completely open and I likely won't eliminate any schools until late October, early November."

"I really don't know much about Iowa. Its hard to imagine visiting them because all I can think about is cornfields. The only way for me to judge them is by taking a visit to them to find out what they are made of."

"Right now I'm not sure if I'll visit Iowa or not, but its a possibility. They've keep in contact with phone calls, letters, and they've done a great job of selling themselves."

William, possessing a 2.7 GPA and 790 SAT, will be one of Iowa's top targets heading into December. The hope is that he will, indeed, visit to find out that Iowa City is made of much more than just cornfields.
