Iowa Confirms That DB Omar Truitt Was Cited for Legal Issue

Iowa has confirmed that defensive back Omar Truitt was cited over the weekend for a "legal issue".

It was discovered early on Monday that Iowa defensive back Omar Truitt was pulled over for an OWI. The information from the incident was found HERE. The event occured just after midnight early Sunday morning.

The University of Iowa recently sent out a release confirming the news.

"University of Iowa football student-athlete Omar Truitt was cited by Iowa City law enforcement officials this past weekend in Iowa City," the release stated. "UI athletics department officials are in the process of gathering facts in regards to the incident. Truitt is subject to established university protocol in regards to the UI student life code of conduct and team rules and regulations set for members of the football program."

Truitt is from Fort Washington, Maryland and attended St. Johns College High School. He was a redshirt sophomore this past season and did not see any action. 

Iowa will continue to gather information about the case and Scout will share any information that occurs from the citation.
