Iowa has sent out a handful of offers today, one being to running back Ivory Kelly-Martin of Illinois. He's a three-star prospect from Oswego, Illinois.
Kelly-Martin also holds other offers from Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Syracuse among others. His new offer from the Hawkeyes was a significant one.
"It was great," Kelly-Martin said of the Hawkeyes extending him a scholarship. "I loved sitting down and talking with Coach Ferentz. It couldn't have been a better feeling to know that a coach with the prestige of Coach Ferentz, who has invested 17 years into making the Hawkeyes into a national powerhouse, believes that my character and athletic ability would be a great addition to the program. But as with any off it's a very proud moment."
Kelly-Martin holds an impressive offer sheet for this stage of his recruiting process, so where do the Hawkeyes fit in? He shared that with Scout.
"Obviously a program with the prestige of Iowa puts them high on the list, but I still have ot take it all in and do my homework and find out where I best fit," he explained. "But I loved everything I saw and heard today. It's a lot to think about."
Iowa is high on the list but he's not prepared to name any favorites at this juncture.
"I am avoiding listing any favorites until I finish all my spring visits and have done my homework on all the programs involved," Kelly-Martin revealed.
Despite that, Iowa definitely improved their stance with the running back from the midwest.
"I love the message that it's just not all about doing things or completing something but it's about doing it the right way when it comes to the classroom, athletics, or just me as a person," Kelly-Martin discussed. "They want to develop me within all those aspects."
