Iowa Gets 5-seed in Big Ten Tournament

Iowa will enter Big Ten Tournament play as the fifth seed and will play Thursday.

Iowa's slide at the end of the season before their win in Ann Arbor over Michigan costs them a double-bye. The Hawkeyes enter the Big Ten Tournament as the fifth seed and will play Thursday at approximately 1:30 CST.

The conference tournament begins on Wednesday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The 11-seed Nebraska takes on 14-seed Rutgers. In the other contest on Wednesday, the 13-seed Minnesota will battle against the 12-seed Illinois.

Iowa will meet the winner of the Minnesota-Illinois contest. They defeated the Gophers in their lone meeting 75-71 in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes lone game against Illinois was a 77-65 victory in Champaign.

If Fran McCaffery's crew leaves the arena on Thursday with a win, they'll battle Purdue on Friday at approximately 1:30 CST.

Iowa finished the Big Ten regular season with a 21-9 overall record and were 12-6 in the league. They ended the year in a four-way tie for third place with Maryland, Purdue, and Wisconsin.
