The date is locked in. Iowa's top target and Scout100 prospect Eno Benjamin will make his college decision known on April 18. Benjamin is a four-star running back that holds a truckload of offers that include Baylor, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Arizona, Arizona State, California, Northwestern, Houston, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Duke, Iowa State, Miami, and Utah in addition to the Hawkeyes.
Benjamin, from Wylie (Texas) East High has been sought after by the Iowa staff for nearly two years now. The man responsible for getting the Hawkeyes' foot in the door is assistant Bobby Kennedy who coaches the wide receivers. He's created some significant in-roads in to Texas for Iowa since joining the staff.
At about 5-foot-10 and 203 pounds with some strong burst and explosion, Benjamin is reminiscent of some of the running backs that Iowa has used in the past. His skill level is much more advanced at this stage than some of the other guys such as Shonn Greene. He would make his way to Iowa City far more skilled and developed than the others and be starting at a much higher point.
Benjamin announced a top 10 list of schools a few weeks ago. The programs that made the cut were obviously Iowa, but also Baylor, Oklahoma State, Michigan, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Houston, Arizona, SMU, and Northwestern. The highly-touted prospect named the Hawkeyes his leader during the winter months and has yet to back off of that sentiment.
Iowa will roll into his decision date, that is just two weeks ago, far and away the leader and the favorite to land his services.
