Benjamin is obviously one of the top talents in the country and has accumulated several offers as previously mentioned. The offers have trotted in over a long time span. Iowa was one of the first schools in on him and that has seemed to work in their favor. He named the Hawkeyes his leader over the winter when he had just approached double digits in offers.
After another wave of scholarship extensions came to his front door, including some powers in the region he plays such as Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Missouri, SMU, and Houston, Iowa still rose to the top for him. He also gained some out-of-region offers from powers that included Michigan, Arizona State, Cal, Arizona, Northwestern, and West Virginia.
Once he reeled those in, he took some trips. Benjamin visited Iowa for the first time in addition to Michigan, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Ohio State, Northwestern, Houston, and SMU. After those trips, the Hawkeyes kept their lead for his services. A month or two later, Benjamin announced a decision date with Iowa appearing to be in great shape.
Iowa is definitely in the top group heading into Benjamin's announcement tomorrow. Other schools in the running would include Michigan, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Missouri, and Northwestern. It would be a surprise if he were to pledge to a school tomorrow that was not in that group.
All the signs have pointed to Iowa for several months but Benjamin has showed some love to Oklahoma State, Baylor, SMU, Houston, and Michigan as well. The Hawkeyes' top competition probably comes from the Wolverines. However, Michigan already has three running backs committed in O'Maury Samuels, A.J. Dillon, and Kurt Taylor. I think Iowa gets the call tomorrow and I'm at the point where I would be shocked if it wasn't the Hawkeyes.
