The wait is over. Iowa has extended a scholarship to Iowa City (Iowa) West wide receiver Oliver Martin. The offer from the Hawkeyes actually came earlier in the week, and is one of five Big Ten offers for Martin on the week. Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan State, and Minnesota have also joined in to pursue the smooth receiver from the Hawkeye state.
Martin's father, Jeff, confirmed to Scout that the Hawkeyes have offered his son.
"Yes, Iowa offered," he sent Derek Young of Hawkeye Insider in a message earlier on Thursday. "Oliver met with head coach Kirk Ferentz on Tuesday."
Not only has Martin now secured five offers from the Big Ten Conference in less than a week but his status has elevated nationally as well. Martin was invited to the annual "The Opening Finals" held by Nike in Beaverton, Oregon. It will take place in a few weeks and welcomes the best prospects throughout the country to compete against one another.
A decision timetable is not known for Martin who has several offers to pick from but it would be a surprise to not hear something relatively soon.
