Ankeny's Brodell: Waiting for an Iowa Offer?

"Iowa State and Pittsburgh are my offers right now, and I think that maybe if I waited it out a little longer I might have more opportunities."

Ankeny standout Andy Brodell has made no secret of the fact he'd like to make a commitment before his senior season begins, but as the weeks tick by leading up to the 2003 season that is looking more unlikely.

Brodell is a 6-2, 185-pound RB/S who ran a wind-aided time of 10.65 to win the 100 meters at last spring's Drake Relays and took gold in the 100 and 200 at the 4A state meet. His Ankeny teammate, Grant McCracken, was offered and verballed to Iowa over the summer.

Thinking we might catch some commitment news from Brodell, CN reached him Wednesday but instead learned his recruitment hasn't changed course much in recent weeks.

"From my standpoint, everything is pretty much the same," said Brodell. "I've always said I'm looking at making a decision before everything gets started, but I'm not sure when that's going to be. Waiting through the season isn't a bad idea, either. It's a big toss-up. I'm not sure about anything right now and still have a lot of different things to look at.
