Week 6: Iowa Recruits Recap

Dylan Burn of Hawkeye Insider walks you through how some of the Iowa recruits fared during this week's high school football games.


*QB Peyton Mansell completed 16-23 passes for 148 yards and a TD as Belton rolled to a 56-9 victory on Thursday night.

*WR Beau Corralles had a big night notching double digit catches with 11 for 175 yards and three touchdowns in a win for Georgetown.

*WR Gavin Holmes had a productive night for Justin Northwest.  Holmes caught nine passes for 185 yards and touchdown in a win.

*RB Ivory Kelly-Martin rushed 22 times for 101 yards for Oswego East in their first loss to Oswego.  Oswego East is now 5-1 on the season.

*WR Brandon Smith had a touchdown reception, however I could not find catches or yards in a win for Lake Cormorant.  They rolled to a big victory.

*Solon product Jacob Coons hauled in 4 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns from his tight end spot as Solon absolutely rolled over Fort Madison by a count of 56-7.

*WR Brandon Smith had a productive day in a big time win for Lake Cormorant.  Smith hauled in seven balls for 100 yards and two touchdowns.

*Five star DE, A.J. Epenesa recorded five tackles, one for a loss as his Edwardsville team lost to East St. Louis by a score of 20-10.

*CB/S/RB, whatever you want to call him at this point, Camron Harrell was solid once again carrying the ball 12 times for 80 yards.  His Bradley Bourbannais team is now 6-0 on the season.


*WR Oliver Martin hauled in three passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns.  He also had 75 punt return yards as Iowa City West got back on the winning track.

*I know we have been cooling on Russ Yeast, but he had 139 yards rushing and a TD last night in a win for Center Grove.

*Scotty Nelson returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown and also threw three touchdown passes for U-D Jesuit in their rout of St. Joesph, 48-13.
