The Iowa coaching staff is hitting the cornerback position hard in 2017. With Matt Hankins, Josh Turner, Camron Harrell, and Chevin Calloway (although we shouldn't hold our breath on that one) all committed they are set to have some depth there for the future. It appears they are still looking to strengthen the position in the class of 2018 when they offered 3-star CB Ken Montgomery out of Hillsborough Senior HS in Tampa Bay, FL.
"It feels like a big offer and I will be doing my homework on Iowa," Montgomery told Scout in regards to his latest offer. The Hawkeyes join a host of other schools that are wanting in on his services. Nebraska, USC, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, and Louisville are just a few notable schools out of the many.
Montgomery didn't want to jump to any early conclusions and wants to see how Iowa will recruit him before putting them on a list with other schools, but clearly is intrigued by the offer.
"I would put them on my list where I'm still looking to see if they are going to recruit me," he admitted when asked where Iowa fell on his early list.
The talented corner doesn't have any early favorites and is really just playing the field right now seeing which schools are going to recruit him heavily and which ones are not.
Montgomery is the second corner Iowa has offered in the class of 2018. The first was I'Shawn Stewart of Bolingbrook, IL.
