One of the main visitors for Iowa this weekend was cornerback commit Joshua Turner. He committed to the Hawkeyes over the summer and is a valuable asset to the class as they continue to prioritize defensive backs in the 2017 recruiting class.
With a couple departures, and Turner being close to one in particular (Eno Benjamin), it's been a bit of a concern to some what his standing was in the Iowa class. That should not be a concern after Saturday night.
"It was my best visit of the recruiting process by far," Turner said. "I can't think of a place being more electric than that. It was an amazing trip. We got to rush the field. It was just an awesome experience."
The three-star corner from Florida was also able to re-connect with the coaching staff and all is good between the two sides.
"I got a chance to speak with the coaches," Turner pointed out. "We discussed the same things, just that they can't wait for me to get there and how I'm very excited and thankful for the opportunity."
In terms of where the class goes from here, Turner has immense optimism.
"I think this class stays intact the rest of the way and that kind of a visit and that kind of a night gets everything back on track," he shared. "I think a couple more guys will jump in soon as well. Of course we miss some of the old recruits, though."
On what he thinks about Iowa's chances with Scotty Nelson, Turner replied, "I feel very good."
