Iowa impressed another highly-touted visitor this weekend as they upset the third ranked Michigan Wolverines by a score of 14-13. Scout300 junior linebacker Cameron McGrone of Indianapolis holds a Hawkeye offer and has received a lot of attention already from the Iowa coaching staff. He was able to take in quite an atmosphere in Kinnick Stadium Saturday night.
"I would grade the visit a definite 10 out of 10," McGrone told Scout afterwards. "Everything was fantastic."
Iowa is one of the better offers in McGrone's possession so far. He's also been extended scholarships by Wisconsin, Nebraska, Northwestern and Indiana.
The fans stormed the field after the Hawkeyes stunned Michigan on Saturday night. It was a sight to behold but McGrone chose to not join the scrum though he did enjoy every minute of it.
"I will remember how all the fans stormed the field at the end," McGrone shared. "That was a great thing to see. I was going to join it but there was so many people out there and I couldn't feel my feet anymore."
McGrone plans to visit Iowa again in the future as they continue to make their presence felt on the recruiting trail in Indianapolis. He and running back Tyrone Tracy of the 2018 class are just a couple standouts from the Indianapolis area that the Hawkeyes should threaten to land.
"They're pretty high up on my list," McGrone admitted about Iowa.
