Signed: Iowa RB Ivory Kelly-Martin

Hawkeye Insider takes a look at each Iowa signee.

COMMIT DATE: April 4, 2016

EVALUATION: He committed fairly early so I think people forget about him and also because he switched high schools, but he is a quick kid who can catch the ball out of the backfield and bring those multi-dimensions to the Iowa offense. - Midwest Analyst Allen Trieu

RECRUITMENT: His recruitment didn't last long. Kelly-Martin had picked up offers from a few programs such as Arizona, Illinois, Syracuse, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin but acted swiftly following his offer from the Hawkeyes. He was offered at one of the junior days and quickly committed to Iowa about a month afterwards. The Illini still attempted to pursue and steal him for a bit of time afterwards but made little to no traction.

OUTLOOK: Iowa will sign two running backs in this class much like they did a year ago. Like this past year, I expect one to redshirt and one to play their true freshman year as to split them. I especially think there's room for one to play right away now that Derrick Mitchell and LeShun Daniels are both gone and Marcel Joly hasn't been able to rise up the depth chart just yet. That very well could be Kelly-Martin and he'll be given that opportunity.
