POSITION: RUNNING BACK
STAR RANK: THREE-STAR
POSITION RANK: 38
COMMIT DATE: January 30, 2017
LEAD RECRUITER: Phil Parker/Seth Wallace
EVALUATION: Bryan is a patient runner that flashes a second gear when given daylight in the open field. This Florida native is a tough runner that possesses impressive vision and instincts when operating in the open field. Bryan, who's also a willing blocker, has battled injuries throughout his high school career. He has good but not great speed.
RECRUITMENT: Injuries really caused his recruitment to go sideways on him. He had a sensational early offer list when he was barely into high school from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Clemson, Ohio State, LSU and Michigan before the slate was practically wiped clean after a few injuries. Once he showed that he was healthy enough and producing once again, the same offers weren't all there and he committed to South Carolina. That relationship soured and the two sides went their separate ways and a new set of schools were now under consideration that included Iowa and Pittsburgh. The Hawkeyes defeated the Panthers for his services after an official visit to Iowa City.
OUTLOOK: Not that there is still any injury concerns that remain but one wonders if Iowa would almost prefer to ease him along and be cautious with him in the beginning and feel out what type of back he can be. He has the higher ceiling between he and Kelly-Martin in regards to potential but I think a careful approach in the beginning could be warranted. Could that mean redshirt? Perhaps.
