Signed: Iowa WR Henry Marchese

Hawkeye Insider takes an in-depth look at each Iowa signee.

COMMIT DATE: January 24, 2017

EVALUATION: A late legacy take, Marchese had a really good high school career. He is big with good ball skills and shows some open field ability as well. Best of all, he works hard and comes in well prepared and will find his way onto the field in our opinion. - Midwest Analyst Allen Trieu

RECRUITMENT: Marchese is another prospect that had an uneventful recruitment for the most part, still. He had offers from MAC programs but did not make a verbal commitment until he was offered by Iowa in the middle of January. With his father having played for Iowa as a walk-on, that's all it took. Marchese committed to the Hawkeyes less than a week later.

OUTLOOK: I envision Marchese finding a role at some point for Iowa and seeing the field even though he comes in not having the same excitement about him that Brandon Smith does. He's a bigger receiver that could top out at Iowa at 6-foot-3 and over 200 pounds. He'll be a larger target and could perhaps see a role similar to the one that Jacob Hillyer held for a couple seasons. A redshirt year is likely.
