The first junior day of the 2018 recruiting cycle for Iowa will be hosted on Sunday March 5 and it is a fantastic list of visitors. The Hawkeyes will also have several sophomores in attendance that are highly ranked as well and that have already collected many offers.
The Sunday visit will be about creating and fostering relationships between the families, coaches, and prospects on hand as well as a few of the current players. It shows them what to expect at Iowa, gives them a taste of campus, and introduces them to the culture, facilities, history, tradition, and success of the program. It is often the first step for many prospects in learning all they need to know about the Hawkeye way. However, there will be a portion of the prospects on hand that have already visited the campus, specifically for a game at Kinnick Stadium this past season.
Here are some of the highlights of the visitor list. We will keep this updated as new names are added and other lauded and decorated prospects confirm their attendance in Iowa City for the weekend.
*The two 2018 commits will both be in town.
*14 prospects in the 2018 class that hold an Iowa offer will be there.
*Two prospects in the 2019 class that already hold an Iowa offer will be in Iowa City.
*Three four-star prospects will be in attendance.
*17 three-star prospects will be visiting Iowa on Sunday.
*Several in-state prospects will be in town as well, from both the 2018 and 2019 classes.
*A large group from Missouri will make the trip in what is the best class for the state in some time.
*The group is almost exclusive to just midwest prospects.
*A few prospects will be on commit watch. It would almost be a little surprising if Iowa did not add a commit or two from the event, or a few days after.
