One of the top linebackers in the midwest is Jack Sanborn of Lake Zurich, Illinois and he has an offer sheet to match that description. Some of his better offers come from Duke, Minnesota, Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Iowa State in addition to the Hawkeyes.
Sanborn was back in Iowa City for his third Hawkeyes' visit over the weekend and was once again impressed with what he saw.
"I had a great time," he said to Scout. "It was nice to get back on campus and talk with all the coaches but also get to know other recruits. I don't know if a lot was different from the previous two visits but it was more about coming back since I hadn't been there in a while. It was good to have the opportunity to talk with the coaches some more and be around some other recruits."
The Hawkeyes are in a good spot for Sanborn, he admits, but he stopped short of saying that Iowa and Wisconsin were alone at the top.
"I would not say it was ever just an Iowa-Wisconsin battle," he pointed out. "Those are two schools I really, really like but there are also other schools I really like as well."
All in all though, the Hawkeyes are where they need to be for Sanborn at this point in time and he raved about what they have showed him and introduced to him so far.
"It's a program that I have visited three times now and I have had a great time each time," he shared. "It's a program that I like that is bigger than just one guy. They pride themselves on being the hardest working team and the toughest team, which I like."
Sanborn capped it off by saying that he expects to make his college choice before the Spring is over or into the early portion of the Summer.
