AJ Ratliff Sets Iowa Official Visit

One of Iowa's top recruiting targets at this time, Indianapolis guard AJ Ratliff, will be making an official visit to Iowa City the weekend of September 19th, HawkTalkOnline.com has learned.

Ratliff made a big name for himself this spring with solid play at several of the AAU camps and is among one of the Top 50 players in the nation.

Ratliff recently visited Indiana and had a great visit. While there were rumors that Ratliff was ready to commit to the Crimson and Cream, that did not happen.

Ratliff was believed to be at Xavier recently and will visit Iowa in two weeks.

Iowa's football game against Arizona State in Iowa City on that Saturday will certainly provide the Hawkeye basketball department a chance to show Ratliff how rowdy the fan base can be in the River City.

There will be a shirts and skins scrimmage in Carver Hawkeye Arena the Saturday before the game between 2-3pm.

Doug Thomas of SCC was in Iowa City last weekend and took part in a shirts and skins scrimmage as well.

Thomas is still on Iowa's radar, and if the 6-foot-8 power forward turns in a solid year as a citizen, it appears likely that he will be wearing the black and gold next fall for Steve Alford's Hawkeyes.

Thomas had a checkered academic history prior to enrolling at Southeastern, nearly had a 3.00 gpa last year.

There could be one or two more basketall visitors on that Saturday, but those players are still up in the air. However, think big men.

Should anything change, HTO.com will let you know.
