Iowa Remaining Persistent for Midwest RB Henry Geil

Iowa's effort has been persistent for a running back from the Midwest.

One of the more recent visitors for Iowa since Signing Day was Green Bay (Wisc.) Preble running back Henry Geil. Geil holds an offer from the Hawkeyes but his collection also consists of offers from Indiana, Iowa State and Syracuse. Wisconsin and Michigan State have showed strong interest as well and are hovering.

His visit to Iowa City was a successful one.

"It was a really good visit," Geil said. "It was all about the hospitality they showed me. It really impressed me. Every coach was very persistent in the fact that they want my experience to be tailored to the goals I have for myself."

Geil isn't ready to name any leaders out of the schools that have offered, though he's taken a handful of visits now. It's still too early in the process for him. With other schools being considered still pondering an offer, a summer decision is much more likely than a college choice in the Spring.

However, growing up in Big Ten country has left a mark on him.

"I love the Big Ten feel of Iowa," Geil shared. "The conference just has a certain feel about it and it's definitely something I felt at Iowa. I wouldn't say that playing in the Big Ten is a preference of mine. I was just raised a Big Ten kid. I can adapt to any playing style but I'm just saying the Big Ten has a lot to offer."

The good thing for Geil is that he could wind up with multiple Big Ten offers.
