Iowa Basketball: 2019 OH PG Jeremiah Francis has Heard Great Things About Iowa

Pickerington (Ohio) class of 2019 point guard Jeremiah Francis has heard great things about Iowa.

Fran McCaffery and his staff dished out two offers on Monday, both to point guards in the class of 2019. One went to Minneapolis PG, Ty Terry and the other went to Jeremiah Francis, a point guard out of Pickerington, OH.

"It felt great to receive an offer from another Big Ten school," Francis said. "I know it's a great program and I want to make a visit because I've heard great things about the campus," he added.

Francis was competing down in Dallas, TX this past weekend for the first session of the Adidas Gauntlet. He and his Indiana Elite teammates won the first session going 4-0 and actually defeated Ty Terry's Minnesota D1 team in the championship. Francis praised Terry saying that he was a good player and it was really fun to match up with him during the contest.

Iowa assistant coach Andrew Francis is the coach that offered the talented point guard and turns out Jeremiah's Dad, Jerry, knows both Andrew and Fran from being in the coaching ranks for 20 years. Jerry was also a four year player at Ohio State in the 80's and averaged over 15 points per game for the Buckeyes during the '87-'88 season.

He currently has offers from Butler, Ohio, Ohio State, Purdue, and West Virginia along with the Hawkeyes, but says he's hearing a bit from Roy Williams and North Carolina at this point in time as well.

Despite having some pretty impressive offers already, Jeremiah says he has no plans of rushing to make a decision and currently boasts no favorites.

"I'm just really going through the process," he admitted. "Recruiting is going great, meeting new people in the process and learning more about schools and the environment around the school, I like observing stuff like that," Francis added.

He said he doesn't have anything planned in terms of a visit to Iowa City, but says he wants to make one because he has heard such great things about the program and the campus.

Francis is currently listed as the top ranked point guard in Ohio for the class of 2019 and he and his Indiana Elite teammates will be down in Atlanta this weekend at another Adidas Gauntlet event.

This would be another guard that would help Fran McCaffery's 2019 recruiting class.
