Iowa has been building a solid base to their 2018 class already. And 3-star LB Antwuan Johnson from Dayton, Ohio would only help. He put the Hawkeyes in his top 9 earlier on Tuesday.
However, a few months back, Johnson actually broke it down even further with Scout's Bill Greene. He put Iowa in his top five of schools he was looking at the hardest along with Louisville, Cincinnati, Kentucky, and Indiana.
"I love the way they (Iowa) get after people," Johnson told Scout on Tuesday. "I feel like I could come in and be an impact guy right away."
Johnson - who is a former Michigan commit - was offered by the Hawkeyes in April of last year. He has yet to make the trip to Iowa City to see the Hawkeyes and what life is like in Iowa City, but you can bet that is on the agenda before any kind of commitment comes.
"I plan on making a few (trips to Iowa City) and I'll make a few others before I commit," Johnson admitted.
Johnson did come clean and say that a couple of the 9 definitely are standing out for him, but would not disclose that information just yet, calling it "in house information".
He did however say that if he were to come to Iowa, his goals would be set about as high as you can set them. He said he'd like to become the next Andre Tippett if the Hawkeyes were his selection.
There is no timeline for a decision from Johnson just yet.
