Plumb Pumped About Iowa Offer

Find out what Jack Plumb's next move is after receiving an offer from Iowa.

He's played tight end a lot in his career so far but Green Bay (Wisc.) Bay Port's Jack Plumb projects as an offensive tackle at the next level. The big man is 6-foot-8 and 240 pounds with a superior level of athleticism. He's likely a project because of his lack of experience at the position but the potential is obvious.

The power five interest has generated slowly but Iowa decided not to wait any longer and issued an offer to Plumb on Tuesday.

"I was super excited," Plumb said of his newest offer. "Coach Tim (Polasek) was here about two weeks ago to watch me work out and he said he was really impressed. Then he told me to call coach (Kirk) Ferentz and that's when the offer came. Now I'm pumped and excited."

Plumb was at the Iowa junior day on March 5. He came away thrilled with what he saw at the time and it increased his interest in the Hawkeyes.

"It was good," the Wisconsin native noted about the campus following the trip to Iowa City. "I really liked their facilities and coaching staff. I'm very interested and liked it a lot."

Coach Polasek recruited Plumb while he was at North Dakota State and has carried on that relationship at Iowa.

"Coach Tim is very knowledgeable," he shared after visiting the Hawkeyes in March. "He's honest, straight-forward, and intense. I got to know him while he was at North Dakota State and Iowa is lucky to have him. He seems very enthusiastic about his job here at Iowa."

Plumb plans on making a return visit to Iowa over the summer.
