The Iowa football program does a good job getting their foot in the door quickly on prospects that they like. Usually that pays dividends being the first to school to really take a chance on a recruit. Jack Kiser - a 6'2" 206 pounds 2019 prospect - agrees.
"For sure," Kiser said when asked if that first offer would really stick with him. "Iowa did the hard part coming out to Indiana to find me.. they were the first (to offer) and Indiana was the second."
"Honestly I was in shock," Kiser admitted about receiving the offer from Iowa. "Being speechless was actually something I went through. All I could say was thank you, over and over."
The Hawkeye football program will be looking to reload on talented linebackers in the 2018 and 2019 classes due to losing three starters after this upcoming season in Josey Jewell, Ben Niemann, and Bo Bower. And Jack Kiser could be one that helps the Hawkeyes reload.
Kelvin Bell has been the primary recruiter in that area and he is the coach that reached out to Kiser.
"(Coach Bell) seems like a great guy and very down to earth. We talked over the phone and he really has a way with words that gets you excited," he admitted. "I'm looking forward to building my relationship with Coach Bell."
In regards to a visit, Kiser said that he and his father will definitely make it to campus to see the Hawkeyes, but the date on that has yet to be determined.
