Iowa's class could grow significantly because of the weekend of June 24-25. A fantastic group of visitors are slated to be in Iowa City and many are top targets that could very well give the Hawkeyes their verbal pledge soon afterwards. A lot of fireworks could happen.
The Hawkeyes host a visit weekend each summer that they call "Hawkeye Tailgater" where many of their top targets, committed or otherwise, attend. Last year it set the table for them to land Texans Matt Hankins and Gavin Holmes (who de-committed later on), put them in position to land Longhorns commit Kobe Boyce (who ended up staying with Texas), and also netted them other commitments such as Florida defensive back Joshua Turner, Illinois defensive back Camron Harrell and Mississippi receiver Brandon Smith.
The Hawkeyes have seven commitments so far; running back Henry Geil of Wisconsin, receives Samson Evans of Illinois and Tyrone Tracy from Indianapolis, offensive lineman Jeff Jenkins of Illinois, in-state defensive tackle Tyler Linderbaum, hometown linebacker Dillon Doyle and defensive back Terry Roberts of Pennsylvania.
I think they'll look to add 10-12 more. A fair amount of them may be on campus June 24. More from the 2019 class could be added as well. Below is a summary of what kind of talent is expected.
*At least one 2019 in-state lineman who could net an offer.
*At least six 2018 uncommitted prospects that hold an offer.
*At least two 2019 uncommitted prospects that hold an offer.
*At least 3 main defensive back targets from the 2018 class.
*At least 12 prospects that hold an offer.
*A possible contingent from Florida that holds offers could also attend.
