What went on out there today?
I don't know. It was kind of rag-tag there for a while there. But we played well enough to win at the end.
What has been the frustration for you?
It's tough playing against smaller guys. When you catch the ball, it's a little different going up when you're doing your shots. I've been rushing the ball a little bit. I still ended up scoring fine. I got my average.
Did you guys lose a little concentration there in the second half when you had the big lead?
Yeah. We did. That's one of the things that we have to work on. It doesn't matter who we're playing, we've got to be playing hard. They got a couple of loose balls there in the second half. IN the first eight minutes, they kind of outplayed us. We got back into it and started playing our game.
Can you talk about the defense that you guys played?
It was good. We held them to 56 points. That's a goal of ours any time we hold them under 64 points. Any time we can do that, it's a big plus for us.
How important was the early start?
It was. The first four minutes. That's every game. We talk about that before every game. When you get up 14-3, that's huge.
Did you feel like you guys rattled them a little bit?
I think so. I don't know if they were intimidated coming in. But they play a lot of good teams, too.
You never want to have any segment of the game struggle. That being the case, are you glad it's the defense that has been consistent for you guys?
I hope so. We're definitely not going to stop working in practice. Any time, a team can explode on you. We just have to keep our defense going. Our offense still needs to improve.
What has to happen to make you guys comfortable going from transition to half court offense?
We kind of fell into that in the second half. We took some quick shots. Everybody did it. Finally, we settled down and we started to go to what worked for us in the first half. That was the difference
