The past weeks have been real nice. It was great to be in New York City and see coach Fry honored at the banquet. I thought he brought down the house and he did a great job of speaking on behalf of the recipients that evening.
Obviously, we are all elated about Robert Gallery's award last Thursday (The Outland Trophy). It is extremely significant and extremely special. It is always nice when you see guys get awards, but its even better when it's a great person getting an award. Robert is a better person than he is a player, and he is a pretty good player. It is really amazing when you look over the past two years, guys like Brad Banks, Dallas Clark, Nate Kaeding and now Robert being recognized on such a prestigious front. The awards that those guys have been able to garner have been very, very impressive.
I am very, very pleased for them…it's a great thing. The same goes for the guys getting the All American recognition. That is a tremendous thing as well. I am just very happy for the individuals involved.
We had a great banquet on Saturday. A lot of hardware was given out. That is a tough meeting; a ‘good' tough meeting when you sit down and decide who is going to get the awards. We had so many guys that did a great job for us this past year.
We have had a lot going on. We mixed in a couple of practices as well. We will practice briefly today, be in and out real quick and finals finish up on Friday. We will start to focus on Saturday afternoon. We have a bunch of guys graduating in the morning. We will let them go through that ceremony and then starting in the afternoon, we will start to focus in on the game a little bit and turn our attention to get ready for Florida.
