Recruiting Recap: McPeak and Turner

The Iowa Hawkeyes are looking for help on the offensive line in addition to adding another running back to this year's recruiting class. They hosted several visitors this weekend, including Illinois' Sean McPeak and Arkansas prep James Turner. Read what these two prospects had to say about their time in Iowa City.

A prospect not mentioned heavily this fall, offensive lineman Sean McPeak has drawn the interest from one of the most successful programs in the nation in developing offensive lineman. McPeak took an official visit to the Iowa Hawkeyes this past weekend.

"I had a real good time." McPeak said. "Everybody treated me real well, and I really liked the coaches. It was just a great atmosphere. They told me they had offers out to some other guys, and would be keeping in touch with me."

What else is on slate for McPeak?

"Akron is my only other offer, but they recently fired their head coach. I have a visit scheduled to Eastern Illinois on January 16th. Really, I'm just awaiting to hear from the Iowa coaches concerning an offer."

The Hawkeyes also hosted three running back prospects this past weekend, but perhaps none are as versatile as Arkansas prep James Turner.

"I had a real good time." Turner said. "They have some great people, and it is easy to get around. They are strong academically, and they play strong on the field. I really liked the coaches, and the players were cool, too."

Turner also holds offers from Tennessee and Arkansas State.

"I'm going to be visiting Tennessee on the 16th, and I'll take my visit to Arkansas State on the 9th. I could make my decision sooner, but really there is no telling what will happen. I'm just looking for a program where I can play and am surrounded by good people."
