"I loved it up there," said Sims. "It was just crazy, but they really got it going on there. I could tell the coaches were prepared to make me feel comfortable and show me a good time. My host, Abdul Hodge, was the coolest guy I've ever met. I also really liked David Walker. The people there are just so nice, and they really get into their football. Right now, I'm loving Iowa."
Sims, a cousin of former Hawkeye WR CJ Jones, remains committed to completing his official visit to Virginia Tech this coming weekend.
"I'm going up there this weekend, and will make a final decision sometime around Signing Day. Iowa set a real high standard so now I just have to go in there and see how much they can wow me."
Sims also has his mind focused on gaining qualification.
"I still have to qualify as I got a 17 on the last test, and need to get my GPA up to a 2.5. Right now, I'm at a 2.3, but I'm presented a good chance to raise that. That is what caused Florida, Florida State, and Miami(FL) to all back off."
