Kyle Williams Focused on Wrestling, Not Recruiting

Fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes have been hanging on Kyle Williams' every word, as he is one of the nation's top football prospest regardless of position. Williams committed to Iowa early in the fall, but recently took a visit to Oregon that had the Hawkeye flock a bit nervous. In this latest update, Williams talks briefly about his impressions of Oregon and where he stands with his previous commitment to Iowa.

Kyle Williams, of Bolingbrook, Illinois isn't only a super football player, he's also won of the top wrestlers in the state of Illinois as well.

Kyle is 25-0 heading into the conference tournament being held next weekend at Bolingbrook High School.

As far as the football future for Williams, he says he's going to be a Hawkeye despite the strong efforts of the Oregon Ducks.

"Oregon was tight but I'm solid with Iowa." Williams said.

"I'm just trying to win a state wrestling championship now."

If Kyle does get to the title match in the 215-pound weight class, he's probably going to run into Minooka's Russ Weil.

Weil and Williams have been competitors on the football field and the wrestling mat for quite some time now.

Weil will sign a letter of intent on Feb. 4 to play linebacker for Ron Turner's Fighting Illini. Russ is also undefeated this season at 215-pounds and a showdown is in the works.
