Iowa Eyes Texas DB

Cornerback will be wide-open next fall with the departure of Senior Matt Stockdale. Iowa is targeting some of the best athletes in the nation who could possibly fill the CB spot, such as William Blackmon and Fabian Washington. One pure cornerback that should not go unnoticed hails from the state of Texas; just how much of a chance does Iowa have???

JoJo Walker (5'10 160 4.4) is one of the top defensive backs in the state of Texas. Coming from Carrollton, TX (Creekview) he, also, has had the opporunity to play against some of the top competition. While some schools, like Oklahoma and LSU, have scared away because of his size, many schools are still in hot pursuit.

"Right now I have offers from Maryland, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Purdue, and Toledo," stated JoJo. "Right now every school, but Toledo, will probably receive a visit. Some more schools may offer, but Iowa has a good chance of receiving a visit. I'll begin to set them up after the season."

"I like the fact that Iowa has produced NFL players like (Kevin)Kasper and (Tim)Dwight. I, also, like the fact that I'd have a chance to play early."

"My main influences on my decision right now will be how the teams finish their season and how big of a Texas background they have on their team. I don't want to feel alone when I attend a university."

"The toughest WR I've probably gone against would be teammate, Travis Wilson (Oklahoma Commit), in practice. Maybe someday, we'll end up going against each other."

JoJo has also carried himself well in the classroom, carrying a 2.5 GPA, but he hasn't taken the SAT yet. One thing for sure, Iowa has had plenty of success recruiting smaller sized players the past few years, and the track record will speak for itself in the recruitment of JoJo.
