Raymond Henderson Has Impressive Offers

Every year, there are a few kids that just seem to possess the special qualities that separates them from the best of the best. If Raymond Henderson does not fit in that group for this fall's upcoming seniors, then the Class of 2005 must be very special. Henderson will undoubtedly be ranked as one of the nation's top defensive ends in our upcoming summer rankings.

"Right now, my top schools are Iowa, Notre Dame, Miami(FL), LSU, Penn State, and Ohio State," said Henderson. "I have interest in other programs, and am completely wide open right now, but those six have offered and currently stand out."

Henderson made trips this spring to both Notre Dame and Iowa, and will be back down in Iowa to stay with his brother in late June. Still, Raymond insists that because he has not traveled far yet that it won't mean he won't be heading far away come Signing Day.

"Distance is not a factor in my decision at all. I'm just looking for the best combination of graduation rates, academics, and the overall football program."

It has been reported on several occassions that Henderson and teammate Travis Beckum were exploring the idea of playing together. Does that still stand true?

"We talk about playing together all the time, and certainly we will hold that option. There is no telling what will happen from now until we make our decision."
