Central Michigan offered Lockport (Ill) QB Jake Christensen (6-0, 195, 4.8) on May 26, bringing to ten the total number of offers he says he has received. Iowa (offer) leads slightly over Arkansas (offer). "I've visited Iowa," said Christensen. "It's about three and a half hours from my house. I liked how personable all the coaches and players are. It's a real comfortable place to be. It just seems right. Coach (Kirk) Ferentz seems committed to the program long-term.
"It's a really close lead over Arkansas right now. I can't really say because I haven't seen Arkansas yet; I'll visit there in the next week.
"If Purdue offered me, I'd definitely have to consider them too. The offense they run, with a lot of shotgun and four-WR sets, is something that would interest me.
"My dad (Jeff Christensen) went to Eastern Illinois and then played QB for the Browns and Bengals, and he's kind of helping me out, making sure I'm informed and everything. But he's keeping an open mind and leaving the decision totally up to me.
"My mom wants me to go somewhere warm.
"There isn't really one important factor in choosing a school; it's just about what my family and I think feels right.
"I'll go to the camps this summer of my top five schools once I decide which ones those are. The only camp that I know right now I'll go to for sure is Iowa."
