Pair of Cornerbacks to Visit This Weekend

The Hawkeyes will be hosting two cornerbacks from the state of Florida on official visits this weekend. These two cornerbacks happen to have family ties. Also, Hawk fans will be able to get the early scoop on other prospects who will be visiting this weekend.

The Hawks have set their eyes on a pair of twins, Jermaine and Tremaine McCullum. These two are a pair of 5'10 175 DB's from Miami, FL (Southridge). Depth at cornerback has hurt Iowa badly this season, and it appears that Iowa is set on signing anywhere from 4 to 7 DB's in this class.

"We want to attend the same college together," claimed Jermaine. "Right now we only have a visit set for Iowa this weekend, but we'll likely visit Georgia Tech, Rutgers, North Carolina State, and Pittsburgh. They've all offered."

"We don't know a whole lot about Iowa at this time, except that we know we'll have a chance at gaining early playing time. We are anxious to check out the campus life, football facilites, and the people at the University this weekend."

"Our main factors will be playing time and how well we relate with the coaching staff. We don't want to have to wait until our junior or senior years to see the field. Our parents are very supportive so distance won't be any problem."

So is there is anything that sets these defensive backs apart from each other???

"I'd say Tremaine is the quicker one," stated Jermaine. "However, I am more physical."

Would Tremaine say the same thing???

"I believe he'd say the same thing," Jermaine said laughing. "I ran a 10.9 100, and he ran a 10.8."

One thing is for sure, Iowa definitely would like to tap into that Miami area a little bit more. It'd be a great way to start out by not only signing one prospect from the area, but a pair of twins.

Other visitors slated so far for this weekend (HTO will have a confirmed list on Thursday or Friday):

DL L.C. Kirkpatrick
DL Joseph Edwards
WR Brandon White
ATH Jerramy Scott
