WR Greg Orton (6-4, 190, 4.5) of Huber Heights Wayne (OH) already has 15 scholarship offers, but says he remains pretty open. "I haven't even really looked at it yet," said Orton.
But Greg favors Pittsburg slightly over Purdue, Louisville, Michigan St, Iowa and Virginia and all have offered. He also has offers from West Virginia, Cincinnati, Duke, Boston College, Wisconsin, Miami-(Oh), Bowling Green, Ball St, Akron and Maryland.
"I like the wide open offense at Pittsburgh and I love all the WRs they put in the NFL. I really felt wanted there and I feel I could have a good chance to play early there."
Greg says the Boilermakers are recruiting him the hardest. "They send the most mail and a lot of handwritten letters.
"Iowa was the first school to offer me in Oct and Coach Ferentz is really cool. I'm planning to visit them in July. I also have a good connection with the Recruiting Coordinator Eric Johnson.
"Location is not a factor. I want to go to a good communications school and where I'll be able to play early and I really want to connect with the coaches."
Greg plans to attend camps at Ohio St and Pittsburgh. He's also being recruited for basketball (G, 15 ppg/6 rpg). "I'll most likely just do football. I was mostly a basketball fan as a kid and always loved North Carolina."
Greg finished his JR season with 59 receptions for 782 yds and 11 TDs. "I'm a big downfield threat and I'm really aggressive towards the ball. I move good and am very quick. I'd like to work on my upper body strength and improve my bump and run and be more physical."
