Hawkeyes Land Texas Standout

Josh Clark of TheInsiders.com and Hawkeyenation.com is reporting that Iowa has received a verbal commitment from Texas running back Corey Robertson.

Robertson is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound ball carrier who rushed for nearly 2,200 yards last year and scored 31 touchdowns for Dennison High School, a 4A program in Texas. The largest classification in Texas is 5A.

Robertson was named first team all state last year, as well as being named first team all Dallas Metroplex by the Dallas Morning News.

Robertson is the sixth known commitment for the Iowa football program, and joins Alex Kanellis, Trey Stross, Marcus Wilson, Jake Christensen and Kyle Calloway as Iowa verbals.
