6'3 265 DT Larry Thomas is one of the emerging defensive tackles in the south. Playing in the ever so talent rich city of Miami, FL (Killian High School) it's not hard for a prospect to sometimes get overlooked. However, for as quicky as he was overlooked, those same schools are now quickly jumping on the bandwagon.
"Right now I have offers from Iowa, Central Florida, and North Carolina," Larry said. "Kentucky, Florida, and North Carolina State are some of the schools calling me right now. I have a tenative visits scheduled for Kentucky this weekend, and I plan to set one up for UNC very shortly."
"My visit to Iowa was a real good visit. I was greatly impressed by the medical facilities and athletic facilites at Iowa. Everyone there treated me real nice and the players were like a big family."
"I'm going to major in pre-med. Iowa has one of the best medical schools and that is a big reason why they are right there at the top of my list. I currently have a 3.2 and I scored 950 on the SAT."
So did Larry take notice of the Alamo Bowl announcement during halftime?
"Yeah, that was real cool to see the crowd get behind the team. I was impressed with the way the people get behind the athletics the whole time that I was at Iowa. I had people who didn't even know me coming up asking me for my authgraph and stating that they wished I would come play at Iowa."
Well, there is good reason for Hawk fans to wish that Larry decides to become a Hawkeye. The defensive line is a big priority in this class, and Larry would certainly go a long way in helping shore it up.
