L.C. Kirkpatrick has been one of the Hawk's top targets at DT this whole fall. Coming from Houston, TX (Aldine High School), the Hawks now their fortunes have already been good with Houston DT's, that being Derrick Pickens.
"I have a visit set this weekend to Iowa," L.C. said. "I'm just waiting for Iowa to call to get all the details set-up. I was suppose to visit two weekends ago, but I had to attend a Princeton Review, in order, to prepare myself for the ACT and SAT. I took the ACT this past weekend and I'll be taking the SAT in January."
"Iowa and Tulsa have made in-home visits so far this month. Coach Jackson was the one that stopped by from Iowa and he was a real nice guy. He showed that he wants me and that is why I'm so anxious to see what Iowa is about. However, I don't think I'll be ready to make any commitment this weekend as I want to check a few options out."
"The other schools on my list right now are LSU, Minnesota, and Texas A&M. Minnesota is the only one that has officially offered me out of those schools, but Texas A&M told my coach that they are close. LSU has just remained in contact so I'm not sure what their plans are."
I asked L.C. his thoughts on the upcoming Alamo Bowl and whether he will be watching the game or not.
"Oh yeah, it is going to be a good game. Tech has one of the top offenses in the nation, but I expect Iowa to give them a game out of it. I'll be watching as I'm looking forward to seeing Iowa in action."
This weekend is shaping up to be one of the biggest recruiting weekends for the Hawks, and L.C. definitely has no problem adding size to the number of visitors this weekend. The Hawks didn't battle Texas A&M in the Alamo Bowl, but could end up battling them for this fine DT prospect from Texas.
