Dace Richardson to Trim List soon

Dace Richardson is one of the nation's most sought after offensive linemen in the class of 2005. Soon, he will begin paring his impressive list of scholarship offers down to a pool of roughly 10 favorite schools. Richardson reveals a couple of likely candidates to land one of his five official visits, including the Iowa Hawkeyes, plus comments on the Iowa football program in this update.

One of the top offensive tackles in the nation, Dace Richardson is preparing to narrow his list of schools down to ten. That will take place in the next couple weeks, and then of course, the official visits will begin. Who are the current favorites to land the visits and when will Richardson have his list narrowed?

"Next week or in two weeks I will narrow my list down to around ten schools," said Richardson. "Right now, I'm still wide open and looking over all the factors."

A few schools, though, are likely to make his final list, including USC.

"I want to be able to take a couple official visits during the season, and I know I want to get out to check one of USC's games."

One other programs Richardson knows he is likely to visit are the Iowa Hawkeyes, and he also knows the reasons why.

"Coach (Chris) Doyle, the strength and conditioning coach, takes in players from high school and simply makes them better athletes. They've had a lot of success along the offensive line the past couple years, and they have a good environment. Certainly, Coach (Kirk) Ferentz is another reason for the strong consideration."

Richardson also helped guide Wheaton South to their first victory of the season in the season opener against Glenbrook West. How much improvement did Dace see from his junior season to this past week's game?

"I think strength wise I definitely saw a lot of improvement. I just need to continue to increase my intensity, and everything will be fine. I went up against Tom McAndrews in the game, and he didn't get to the quarterback once."
