Raymond Henderson Not Ready to Show His Hand

When putting together a special recruiting class, a school often uses its own recruits to help recruit. HawkeyeNation.com has already written about the help the Christensen family has offered to the recruiting process, and for defensive end Raymond Henderson, it was a relationship he built with one Hawkeye target that has helped keep him interested in Iowa. Find out about that and his conversation with Coach Lester Erb last evening in this update.

Many believe they know the top list of schools for defensive end Raymond Henderson, but don't be fooled, as Henderson has continually told me things still are not all figured out.

"I have everything written down on what I want to be put in an update for when I narrow my list," said Henderson. "I had around twenty schools on my list, but I have narrowed it to around eight and am waiting for the right time to release that."

You can be sure that we'll have full coverage of Henderson's recruitment here on TheInsiders.com.

One school in particular that caught Henderson's attention on an unofficial visit last spring is the Iowa Hawkeyes. Do they remain strong in his mind?

"Oh yeah, Iowa is definitely one of the schools I will be considering. I just spoke to Coach (Lester) Erb last evening, and we discussed me taking an official visit down there."

While Coach Erb did not press Raymond for a date, he simply left it up to Raymond to decide on the visit by suggesting a phone call to a fellow friend.

"I met Dan Doering at an event in Chicago earlier this spring, and we have talked a few times. Coach Erb told me to give him a call, and we'd try to work it out that I came down for a visit with Doering and everyone else. Right now, all I'm hearing is that Iowa is putting together a real good recruiting class."
