It was a hard fought game and it came down to the wire. I wouldn't say we were lucky. It was hard-fought battle. Both teams battled the whole game and it was good to come away with a win.
On Schlicher's 49-yard field goal
The field goal was huge. Schlicher made five and then that kid didn't make that last one which pretty much capped off the game. I saw it was far left.
On Minnesota's running attack
They've got great backs and a good line and they brought it to us. We've got some things we've got to work on in practice this week and you've got to give them credit.
I think we thought as a defense we had the confidence when it came down to it that we could stop them, but we knew it was going to be a great challenge.
I think we practiced pretty well. I just think there's some stuff that broke down out there that we're going to have to go back and correct.
On Minnesota's offense
They're the best offense we've seen so far and they put up numbers on everybody.
On his tackle for loss a couple of plays before the missed field goal
We were playing our base defense and the tackle who I'd normally key on reached out a little too far and left a little bit of a gap and I just shot the gap and tried to make a play.
On Minnesota gaining more than 330 yards rushing
I'm surprised they got so much against us. I knew they were good. I knew they'd get some yards, but they got 300 or whatever they got, which is incredible. Two hundred yard backs today. I was ridiculous. They have a great running game, great offensive line, and all the credit goes to them.
On the importance of the win
For us, this is huge. We didn't win the Big 10 title today, but we kept ourselves in the race. That's all we could do today. We fought our fight today and we won. It was ugly, but we won and that's all that matters.
It doesn't matter how many yards they got as long as we win. All of them aren't gonna be pretty.
