In return, Moosman also had been awaiting his first experience at Kinnick Stadium, and he made it happen yesterday.
"It was a good game, and the fans were really into it," said Moosman. "Those were some of the loudest fans that I've seen. Iowa may not hold as many people as the Michigan's and Notre Dame's, but they definitely match the quality. Iowa has some really rowdy fans."
It had been reported previously that Iowa was a bit behind both Michigan and Wisconsin on Moosman's list.
"The game just re-emphasized Coach (Kirk) Ferentz's ability to get his team fired up to play anybody," added Moosman, who will be hoping to help Libertyville win the Class 7A state championship this coming week. "I was a bit surprised Wisconsin wasn't as fired up as they just didn't seem to match Iowa's intensity. The game definitely showed me once again why I'm interested in Iowa, and did nothing to hurt their status on my list."
Moosman was not able to speak with any Hawkeye coaches after the game as he departed mid-way through the fourth quarter with the Hawks leading 27-7. Before the game, though, he did get that opportunity.
"I spoke with Coach (Lester) Erb and Coach (Reese) Morgan before the game to see how they were doing. We talked a bit of strategy, including getting an in-home visit set here in the coming weeks. I have my official visit coming pretty soon, and they told me they were going to take seven offensive lineman in this class," said Moosman.
As far as making decision, however, Moosman has no strategy.
"I'm really up in the air on what I'm going to do right now, but fortunately enough for me, I have some great options to choose among," Moosman said. "There are four things I'm looking for in a school, and each of the schools on my list stand out in one of those areas. I'm just praying that my official visits will help me be able to make a decision."
Moosman noted he is not likely to set a visit with UCLA, and that he plans to take a visit to Notre Dame in early January. He hopes to have a decision made by mid-January.
